Macintosh BBS setups running FirstClass BBS and “BBS IN A BOX” will find setup very easy.
Mounting the "AMUG 15:Files" on CD1 and AMUG 15.2 on CD2 " gives you almost 10,000 files. This will give your BBS's users access to 95% of the files on the disk. You can add the "AMUG 15:AMUG Info" if you have an Apple software distribution agreement, as do all registered Apple User Groups, or registered on-line services. In this folder you will find Apple Lic. software, AppleLink notices and AMUG Info. First Class supports reading the BBS in a BOX file descriptions and the PICT previews so that your users can view previews of all art, fonts and QuickTime movies before downloading them. Your users will love it! We have also included our Pict Preview Player in the Art, Font and QT folders so your users can view the items available in these areas off line.
First Class no longer uses the Mount External item from First Class Tools.
To mount BBS in a Box on First Class, log onto the First Class system as the Administrator. Remember you will need to reset your FC settings for 15 and 15.2 as a result of the name changes with each new version.
1. Open the VOLUMES folder.
2. Double-Click on the BBS in a Box icon to open it.
3. If you want to add the FILES section to your First Class system, select that icon.
4. Go to the Confernce Menu and select MAKE ALIAS. A copy of that folder will now be on your desktop.
5. Rename it with GET INFO and drag it to the folder/conference you want it to
appear it.
With the new aliasing feature for external devices you can mount easily any number of folders from the CD.
